The Spiral Wound Gasket consists of a spirally wound, beaded metal strip made from stainless steel 1.4828. A mica soft material strip [phlogopite] protruding on both sides is inserted between the individual windings.

The inner and outer support ring [inner ring and outer ring: 1.4828] stabilize the spiral, while the outer ring also ensures the centering between the flange bolts.

The combination of a high-temperature-resistant stainless steel with mica as filler material enables temperature applications above the conventional range of use of conventional soft materials as well as applications with high operating pressures and critical operating conditions.
