Application
- Sealmax Style 920Pi is a reinforced sealing material designed for severe service conditions. It is manufactured by laminating flexible graphite sheets onto a plain stainless-steel insert, commonly SS304 or SS316, to enhance mechanical strength, surface load and blow-out resistance.
- The plain stainless steel insert provides excellent dimensional stability, improves handling characteristics and increases pressure resistance during operation.
- Style 920Pi is particularly suitable for applications involving high and low temperatures, high pressure and aggressive or corrosive media, making it ideal for gaskets used in petrochemical plants, refineries, power plants, boilers, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, piping systems, flanges, gas and steam services
Properties
- Chemical Compatibility: Resistant to a wide range of chemicals including acids, alkalis, oils, steam, hydrocarbons and solvents (except strong oxidizing agents).
- Enhanced Dimensional Stability: The stainless-steel plain insert improves rigidity and prevents gasket blow-out or extrusion under high bolt loads.
- Low Creep and Relaxation: Maintains sealing performance over long service life.
- Superior Pressure Handling: Suitable for pressure upto 120 bars, making it ideal for high-load sealing application.
