Metal-Jacketed Gaskets with Graphite Filler
Metal-Jacketed Gaskets combine the flexibility of soft sealing materials with the resistance of metal. Depending on the materials selected, they offer high temperature, pressure and chemical resistance and are suitable for a wide range of applications, especially in industrial equipment construction.

Profile
Metal-jacketeded Gaskets consist of a soft sealing material [e.g. graphite] covered by a metal jacket [standard 1.4571]. This design combines the elasticity of the soft material with the robustness and resistance of the metal.
They are traditionally designed for applications in equipment engineering as well as high-pressure and high-temperature applications in the chemical and petrochemical industries and, depending on the metal used, can be used in the range up to 700 °C.
Thanks to the metal sheathing, they are resistant to extreme conditions and compression set, but require comparatively high surface pressures. Particularly in equipment engineering, a high level of stability is often required, which cannot always be guaranteed reliably and permanently. Due to this property profile and the higher requirements of plant operators in terms of plant safety and availability, metal-jacketed gaskets are increasingly being replaced by more efficient and more stable sealing systems [e.g. Grooved Gaskets and Corrugated Gaskets, soft sealing gaskets with inner eyelets], especially in new plants. Metal-jacketed Gaskets can therefore generally be replaced in old systems without any problems.
Metal-jacketed Gaskets can be manufactured in a wide variety of dimensions and shapes [e.g. as frame gaskets for air coolers, with partition bars for apparatuses and heat exchangers etc.].
The gasket thickness is 3 mm [other thicknesses on request].
